attention military sales buyers!!
Hey guys, I ordered my car while I was overseas and got stateside a few weeks back. Today, I recieved my VIN. Awesome, right? Until I called USAA who is doing my fanancing. I was recommended to use USAA By Dave Good at Superior Motors In Bahrain. When I told USAA that the money was going to Bahrain they said, "Stop!" They say they can't provide financing if the dealer is in Bahrain.
So, the question is; Has anyone encountered this issue before? The guy at Superior Motors recommended that I use USAA so I can't imagine what the issue is. Upon hearing this I called around and found out that most banks don't supply financing if the purchasing dealer is out of country. Help please! |

I purchased mine about a year ago in Germany through military sales and financed with Pentagon Federal. Had no issues.... (I would have gone with USAA but Pentagon had better rates.) Not sure what the issue in your case is.

I purchased my car in Germany through BMW Military Sales...you've gotta let USAA know that youre stationed in Bahrain but the purchase is through the Military Sales Program and they shouldn't have any issues with financing...I'm guessing they assumed its from some car lot on the Bahrain economy and not the Military Sales Program.

Thanks for the quick replies guys but I told her it was through military sales. I was deployed to the middle east and when I initially went to bmwmsp.com it referred me to superior motors in Bahrain. I explained this all to the people at USAA and they still said that they could not send a check to bahrain.
It is my understanding that they are supposed to get the funds and then disburse them to BMW who then releases the car after it has been built. This is a little distressing because I was anxiously awaiting the VIN and just got it only to hear all this from USAA.... Ugh! |

I did my purchase through First Choice MSP in Dubai. They have an office in Fernandia Beach, FL that USAA was cool with sending the financing check to. If the dealer has an office in the US, you might be able to get USAA to cough it up.
Otherwise, good luck, I'd advise getting the deposit back and working with another dealer.
