Road Gravel in NY

Anyone in NY see this crap they're filling potholes with? It looks like grey fishtank gravel and just flies everywhere. The edges around my wheelwells and the bottom of my fenders are wasted from this junk.

yep, they've been doing that where I live as well.... what a fucking waste of tax dollars.... doesn't work, plus it takes four guys sitting in two trucks to do the job of one guy/two guys.

Their basically putting band aides on those holes with this cheap fix. Those holes will open up again in a few months. They are gonna have to cut the road and repave it completely if they want it to have a good seal

I was down by Jones Beach last weekend enjoying the weather until I kept running over piles of this shit. The sound of it agains the bottom of the car makes me cringe. By the way, there were so many sick cars out!

You guys wanna talk about some shit. I got caught in a construction paint/dust/concrete storm on the NJP last week at 2AM I was pissed, those idiots were cutting up the highway without laying down water. My car has been at the detailer all week. Our tax dollars go no where fast!

We have the worst built roads. I've hit so many bone shattering potholes, I'm surprised the car is still holding together as it is. I think i should get a Land Rover Defender with big off road tires and a snorkel just to get through the BQE. By the way, has anyone else noticed that really sharp corner wall that sticks out near the Broadway exit? You can see how many people hit that corner by all the smear marks and that was just built a few years ago.

ok i got some new information about this crap they are filling the potholes with, and maybe someone on here can confirm it. I was driving in my car with a friend the other day and i mentioned how they are filling the potholes terriby just as we had passed one. He told me that on the news or in the paper he had heard supposedly the stuff they are using to fill the potholes with lately is more eco friendly than the normal asphalt they used to fill it with. c

It's oil and stone.... maybe they are using recycled content instead of stone, but oil isn't exactly eco-friendly so I have no idea what they are talking about.
