2) nice interior touches
3) rims - not sure about those
4) fenders - don't appear to be swelled much
5) price/usa availability TBD. - guessing $70k base

it is a little excessive, but its a twin turbo V8, correct? it has recaro race seats..all of their "s" cars seem to have come with those.. and a price of 70k? what the hell..

The car is a looker but it will also be a performer as well. It also going to be priced above the eqivalent DCT M3 as well but I doubt too many people will complaint when they sample it's wares in anger.

Sorry that info will be thin on the ground at the moment, that is the way thing have to be but once the embargo is lifted you will understand why it's priced above the competition and why it's another turning point in Audi's history.

It supposedly has a tuned version of the old 4.2liter v8 from the B7 RS4 pushing out ~450hp at 8,250rpm.

Engine will be an NA V8 making ~440hp. Reported to have better low end response than M3. Also has the new sports diff. and a more aggressive S-Tronic. I think it will make for an excellent package and might even edge out the base R8, which might be a problem for Audi?

It looks great. I love the front and rear bumper treatment, though I wish the flared fenders were a bit more pronounced. I'm not a big fan of either wheel option, but the sport seats look amazing. BMW is really behind MBZ and Audi in offering aggressive sport seats.

That 8,200 RPM redline is also quite intriguing

I and many others DINOED our B7 RS4's and they only put out 385BHP

It still will not handle like the M3.

Quite right, the R8 is something special even if the RS5 will be quicker. The real surprised will be the lap times it will be capable of. But the thing I am most looking forward to is the RS5 vs M3 Comp pack comparison test, simply to see if Audi have finally pulled the wool over BMW or if the tweaks M-Division have done have been enough to retain their crown.
