Another DCT thread.....
I know we all see these problematic DCT threads every day. Let's get a count of how many people DON'T have any issues, and absolutely LOVE their DCTs .
I've got 15k miles on mine, and it has been flawless. I have no issues with downshifting under heavy braking, and haven't had any lag issues either. This transmission has exceeded my expectations on the track, in the canyon, and even in city traffic. Who else is in my boat??

I can't quite say my experience is identical to yours. I have had 3 versions of the software. In general they have fixed bugs and improved minor "blemishes" all along. Even given this I have always given the transmission an overall rating of excellent, a 9-9.5 out of 10.

After the last update the low speed lag was greatly reduced to an acceptable level. If BMW reduced the lag even more it would be perfect. I give it 9.5 out of 10.

I have a 2009 DCT and loooove it!!! The lag hasn't been so much of an issue for me as it has been for a lot of other forum members. Kinda just seems like you need to know how to drive the DCT to avoid "the lag". Also, it seems to me that the majority of the people who are having problematic experiences with "the lag" own 2008 early 2009 production models. I dunno. Just my $.02. Overall the DCT has been great.
