Sirius on iPhone: Great App

For those that want Sirius/Howard Stern. My car did not have the Sirius receiver and I was about to add it until I came across the Pocket Tunes App for the iPhone. The app lets you access any internet radio and allows you to play Sirius (inlc Stern) without paying the extra $2.99 premium charge for the Sirius App. I have been streaming in the car for the past few days and it is working great. Paid $6.99 for the App instead of $650 for the Sirius receiver.

I just downloaded the Sirius/xm free app for the iPhone and I'm loving that as well. But you must have a subscription for that app. I haven't tried playing it in the car though. Nice that you found an alternative wu to listen to Sirius in yourcar though.

Yea for the Sirius official app you need to pay the extra $3 or something for premium. The Pocket Tunes app does not require that if you already have an online account setup with Sirius.

You can listen to it anywhere you have the iPhone not just the car - I was using it yesterday at the office. It works great. Between this and Pandora who needs anything else.

I had just discovered this app last week: I want Bloomberg and BBC World. But my Sirius ID is not working when I try to register, so may have to call Sirius....

You can use all the music apps from your iPhone and stream them over. That's the benefits of owning an iPhone and an Aux cable. I like to use the iPhone adapter but most of the time it will cut the App out and auto play the iPod..

Good Thread.

You apparently need a "premium" online account. The account that comes with the option on the M is not that...

Hi guys,

I have a general question on this....

How are you able to listen to anything other than the iPod on the iPhone through the system? I tried to listen to Pandora via the USB cable and it just started playing my MP3s on the iPod.....

How do you switch to a music App (ie Pandora, Shoutcast, etc)?

Can I use the iPhone Snap In Adapter to do the same thing?

Thanks,

Asheesh

I believe you need to use the auxiliary input, not the usb connection.

I have Sirius / XM at home. How much is it to add this Internet Radio or Online subscription?
