E90 M3 with factory S/C
Just got back from my local dealer and one of the salesmen had a German-plated e90 M3 with a factory S/C. He said it was a factory test car and a handfull of the "S/C" m3s are in existance.
I took a look at this thing and it looks completely stock; no special gauges, frontmount intercooler or vents. I am going back Monday morning to take some pics of this thing. I wonder if BMW was testing V8 S/C engines for a future M3??? Has anyone heard of this? Could this be the missing piece of the puzzle on what we may see in the future? If anyone would like to see this, take a trip to BMW if Arlington. I should have more info in the AM. -SZ Last edited by SUB-ZERO; 12-27-2009 at 08:40 PM.. |

Does it still have the S65 motor with 8400 rpm redline?

Can you really S/C without an intercooler?
If yes, color me that much the wiser...

You can, several factory cars come without intercoolers. It sure does help temperature and power gains just having one though.
I want to see some pictures to be truly convinced of this though. If this is true, very interesting. |

It looks completely stock. I will hopefully take pics of the engine bay tomorrow in the AM.
I know. I cannot make any sense of it. Still investigating so hopefully I'll have more info tomorrow. Quote:

Not buying a word of this.
Like BMW M GmbH R&D would give a test car over to some mope at a dealership. Did it have New Jersey or California Manufacturer plates? Were the roundels blacked out?
