Why are we installing the SWS-8 upside down?

i am in the process of installing the SWS-8XI subs in the OEM enclosures.
and i realized that the OEM subs fire downwards.
So why are we installing the SWS-8s facing up?
i am going to try to mount them facing down and see how they sound here at home before mounting them in the car.
will be harder to seal them, but will see what i can come up with.
this way the enclosure will be larger as the sub won't be taking up any space inside it.
just have to check of it will interfere with the seat
i know the OEM covers won't fit, but i'm ok with that
