How to change HD Radio stations

On my dad's 2009 750i, he can change the HD stations from HD1, HD2, and HD3 all for one station. I don't see an option for this on the E9x, my M3. Am I missing something?

When you tune in a station that is HD, once the HD signal comes in if that staion has a twin or even more alternate stations you can get to them by clicking on the station that is already tuned in, and then you will see additional HD versions if they exist (called substations on pg 153).

That may be so on the 2009+ M3, but not on the old idrive 3 series.

Because there was no HD substation support in the old iDrive.

Oh ok, that answers my question. That is what i was thinking after searching for this. Is it common knowledge? I tried doing a search, no threads about it.

on the 08's, you can but you have to be in manual tune. Tune to the Main HD station and once it's tuned in and recognizes the HD, press the station up on the steering whell....that's the only way. Apparently, you can't set it in presets.

Wow that sounds very convoluted... wonder why BMW was so shaky on the substation support on the old i-drive. Thanks!

I stand corrected...

... it is in page 152 of the 2008 M3 Owner's Manual.
