Can't get my Ipod to work?

Hi,

When i plug my Ipod into the E92 it recognises it and will play music, but it can not navigate Albums, Artist, Genre etc... and has invented its own referencing system like calling everything F0, F1, F2 and then within these folders the song names make no sense like AADJ, DDER, TYUP etc... has anyone else had this problem? The ipod is the first Video type one 30Gb. Its about 4 years old. Do the newer ones actually integrate better? or am i doing something wrong with mine?

Thanks in advance.

mine did the same thing, but I can't remember how I fixed it. Search on m3forum under audio section. did you plug in the usb port and the audio/aux port? You have to have both plugged in for the device to work (there's a Y on the ipod connector that plugs into the USB and the headphone jack/out).

Actually, I think that was the problem and the fix, make sure audio jack is plugged in too.

Are you plugging it in via the USB plug in the glovebox? This plug is only used for uploading onto the internal hard drive.....the folders and song names you see are the internal ones that the Ipod uses to catalogue the music files.
You should have a USB plug in the armrest?..if so try that one...or if you already are then as above check that you are using the correct cable.
