Nav Screen To Bright at Night

Is there a way to lower the brightness of the nav screen when car is driven at night?

Yes, there is settings menu where the brightness can be set. It my also be in the Option menu of the Map screen, push the controller to the right.

It doesn't change automatically, which I think it should as well, just slide the idrive to the right when in map mode and check the night option.

You can use one of the 6 preset buttons to switch from Day/Night mode, just go to Nav > Option and when Night Mode is highlighted hold a number down. Not sure why it doesn't switch automatically when headlights are turned on but this is easiest.
