worst day EVER!

I was driving behind a truck which was literally throwing stones and dirt along the back of the carriage. i wanted to stay well away and merged to the right hand lane to overtake avoiding damage..

After overtaking, i was met with a police bike and radar gun, was franticly signalled to pull over and was hit with a $338 speeding fine, 98 in a 70 zone which i highly doubted, but whos to argue. officer said i was 2km/h off losing my licence for 3 months and a fine of $600+!

point is... i wasnt aware of the speed, i was driving up a hill in 6th gear and the cars just spooled up and landed me in hot water! far out

so the question is.... can i dispute the fine and use the excuse of..'but sir, its a 135i, i take no accountability for the seamless, effortless capabilities and 60-98 in 1.1 seconds??!'

To make matters worse, i've left some tradies at my place and an hour later i get a call that they've driven over my water meter and flooded the road! **clenches fist*

only consolation is i got 1 point left... no more spirited drives for me for the next 12 months. anyone for the track?

Good luck fighting the offence mate...

Some years ago I was driving through North Kempsey at around 8am in my 330Ci.. Speed limit was 80km per hour and I was in a single lane road sitting behind a very slow local driver.
Overtaking lane came up and I took the right lane to pass. As I was accelerating to pass the slower driver in the left lane a highway patrol D###head drove pass in the opposite direction, gave me the look, then quickly did a U turn and pulled up behind me, all the time I had my eye on him so I didnt overtake cause he then would of pulled me over for speeding.

Well this dick still pulled me over and fined me for being in the overtaking lane and NOT overtaking. I explained that I noticed him pull out behind me and that if I DID overtake that he would of pinched me for speeding, so then I maintained my speed within the limit.

No f##### go with this top cop.

WHO the fuck in this forum has ever been nabbed for " BEING IN THE OVERTAKING LANE AND NOT OVERTAKING"

I disputed the fine and went to court only to get another dick wit judge..Obviously lost the case..

Good luck..

I'm seriously worried about how long my licence is going to last.... definitely going to be putting on my speed warning to 60 and 100kms per hour....

I rode down to Phillip Island last month with about 10 others, including three wallopers and a screw. There were very few times that we weren't speeding and the wallopers (motorbike cops) tailgated everybody. I think I've still got my last point...

I think the rules of the road say "Keep left UNLESS overtaking"

I was pulled over (in 1985) for the same thing (not keeping left) on a dual carriageway that wasn't marked as it had just been resurfaced. I just got a caution, though...........probably because I was a poor uni student driving a 1975 Datsun 120Y. Doubt I'd get the caution now!

He probably couldnt believe that you where in the overtaking lane in a 120Y..

They where like 0 to 100km in 45 seconds...

My cousin had an automatic 120Y in 1978 when I was on my "P" plates.. remember taking it for a drive and thinking that there must of been a gale force 140km/h wind in my face..man it was the slowest car on acceleration.. Especially after getting out of my dads 273 cubic inch V8 valiant.

Yeah, an ex girlfriend back in the 80's had one of those. I remember holding the wheel at full lock with full throttle on a gravel road - trying to light up the rear tyre(s). No chance of wheelspin even then!

Man, our cars are magnets for tickets. In the 14 years I have been driving I have only ever got 1 speeding ticket -72 in a 60km/h as I wanted to put some distance between me and the jackass 4wd tailgater behind me.

Since getting the 135, within 1 month I have been pulled over twice and 1 speeding ticket. The tempatation is just so hard to resist. Like the other day, an absolute dick was tailgating everyone and overtaking at every opportunity to show off how fast he was. Well,I was in the 135 and unfortunately rose to the challenge. Blew past him and before I knew it was approaching 200. Yikes! (for legal reasons 200 can mean anything and is only posted for entertainment purposes only)

I am seriously worried about my license!

That must have been the sport version!! More like 45 minutes in my one!

Damn good car though...reliable as anything. Believe it or not I got rid of it around 1988 and last year I saw it in a suburb nearby....STILL GOING!!! If I see it again I may approach to owner and see how it's going reliability-wise.

When I got rid of it, it had done about 100,000km and the engine had never been touched.

My brother had one in the early '80s. One outstanding feature of was the AMAZING turning circle. You could almost do a U-turn in a back alley...
