Hi
I've been viewing this site daily over the past few months and decided to join up at long last! I had been ultimately looking for a used 130i but was drawn in by a 125i for sale a while back and readjusted my budget. Unfortunately that seller wouldn't budge on their asking price but I found (by accident really) that buying a new one would only cost a couple of thousand more. So, I made a rather substantial impulse buy when the dealer surprised me by accepting what I thought was a pretty low offer and I'm now anxiously awaiting delivery. I've placed an order for a 125i M Sport in manual with a few options added. It will replace a 325Ti I had until I sold it in July. Hopefully the car will be as good as I think as I haven't actually driven one! It seems that BMW still largely cater for the automatic market and there are precious few manuals around let alone a demo one to test. I have driven a 130i a few years back and was quite impressed so I figure the 125i should be somewhere between my old 325Ti and the 130i. Roll on 2010! Brad. |

You won't be disappointed in your choice of he 125i manual. I have exactly your spec; M-Sport manual, and it is a delight. Anyone who chooses an automatic over the manual they put in the 125i is missing out on something. I know good gearboxes. I traded in a Mazda RX-8 for the 125i. Like you, I hadn't driven one before I took delivery; but then, I hadn't driven the RX-8 before I ordered it in 2003, and I certainly wasn't disappointed with that car either. Cheers from another Brisneyland 125i driver!

I have specified a January 2010 build (ginormous mirrors and all!) so I am hoping it will be delivered around the end of March.

Nice one QSH! I'll bet you're bloody looking forward to March - the wait is both exciting and frustrating! Continue our Chassis Number Thread
