Exclamation New Tires!! What mobility kit to get?

Hi All,
I haven't posted in a while...been a bad boy.
Anyway, I just got a set of 18" Yokohoma S-Drive tires at 20,000 miles. The rears were getting very low and the fronts still had 3-5K remaining, so I took the plunge and replaced all. I bought at the tirerack and had installed at a local Tire Kingdom. And....they managed to sell me an alignment...I know, I'm a sucker!!
The tires feel the same as the stock run-flats. Can't tell any difference, which is good.

MY QUESTION is....I've been doing some searching on this site for mobility kits....what kind do most of you guys have....and why did you get the one that you do have. Any problems???
THANKS.

I am really cheap and bought a $5 can of fix-a-flat and a $10 compressor from Wal-mart (I think it was the Slime brand)... It was cheap and easy and I was in a hurry.... In 4 years I am yet to use it (knock on wood).

I have the BMW Mobility kit that I bought off of one of the BMW Online vendors that frequents this site. I thnk they closed their website because of some fraudulent orders though.

Mike, not to change the subject but did someone steal your 01 325?

If so did someone steal your 07 & 08 as well since they follow the "gone" pattern

I bought the Conticomfortkit from Tirerack. It was half of the cost of the BMW kit.

+1

half the cost, almost identical product and the substance is latex based I believe and will come out of your tire with water (unlike fix a flat).

Hit up Gill from TireRack in the wheels/tires forum if you have any other questions.

Any motorcycle shop will sell you a small 12v compressor (I like the Airman Sparrow) and plug kit for under $50.00. Personally I'd stay away from squirting anything inside the tire as the TPMS sensors aren't cheap. By the way, what were you charged for an alignment at the tire shop?

Thanks (I assume it was for both ends). My dealer charged a great deal more than that. Next time, it's an independant for me.

The 3 mobile tire repair solutions most preferred on these forums appear to be:

- M Mobility Kit
- Continental ContiComfort Kit
- any compact compressor + tire plugs

I ended up purchasing the conticomfort kit. However, I plan to keep tire plugs handy. I'll always try tire plugs first and avoid using the sealant unless the plugs and compressor method doesn't work.

Hey, very interested in hearing everyones opinions. I've still got the original run flats on my 128 at 24k miles, but would love to switch to real tires with a good mobility kit. You say your new tires feel the same as the stock run flats; do you mean in terms if handling, traction, comfort? Is the ride any smoother or quieter compared to the runflats?

how does spraying the sealant damage the TPMS? and has anyone actually used the kit? not just bought it and did your TPMS get damaged?
