Earthquakes ported vs sealed

Hi all,

Has anyone sealed the underseat boxes when installing the Earthquakes SWS-8?

All of you have mantained the original ported box?

Thanks in advance,

I would consider the OEM enclosures sealed not ported. That hole in the enclosure vents into an enclosed space and my feeling is that what they are really doing is just enlarging the enclosure. The hole is big enough in comparison to the total volume of the box for it not to act as a port but rather as a pass through to a larger air space.

So I shouldn't cover that hole in order to have a bigger sealed enclosure, right?

If you cover that hole, you're actually making the enclosure smaller. I know some people have tried it but I've never really heard any positive reviews so I'm guessing that's a sign of it not having very good results.

My results aren't the expected so I will open that hole again, and Dynamat it as much as I can.

Thanks
