Ouch. Wonder how that happened. Damage to the driver side door means he didnt turn in front of oncoming traffic. the damage seems limited to the door, and i dont think any of the airbags went off. Looks as though he/she opened their car door up and wasn't paying attention to oncoming traffic. maybe was a bus ? they seem to get kicks out of hitting car doors as people get out.

Poor bugger, i feel for you. Your car will never be the same again

Which repaier was this at pech ?

this isnt mine! thank god! northshore collision centre, owners of LSR which specialise in ferrari and porsche mainly and only authorised BMW repairer in the NS.

looked like the car was hit while stationary going by where the window is, looks like the owner was in the car when it happened... its been there for a couple weeks awaiting parts.

quite impressed by them, with some of the tech available, in terms of matching paint, its all measured with lazers to check layers etc. pretty cool stuff. they can actually match paint 100% nowadays.

an 09 M3 was in for malicious damage, car got keyed on all panels including bonnet, customer was rightly gutted but left happy as though it left the showroom for the first time, imagine mixing paint with a stirrer?!

would love to catch those jealous pricks in the act!!!

That damage is from opening a door with passing traffic.

How?

1. No paint damage on the paint side of the door
2. Even, creased damage over the whole door - no particular impact zone
3. No visible damage to ANY other part of the car. Just look at the back part of the door; highly damage; and the front part of the rear panel. There's no damage to it.

Diagnosis? Bad Door Opening!

Lol It's crumple damage - showing a pretty even impact - not a pole

Could definitely be a truck/bus damage when opening door. I'm holding my bets on it!

Yep, on top of that the window looks like it is in the 'convenience' position. Looks like a pretty damn heavy impact. I'll be surprised if there was not some sort of injury.

I'd be interested to see the other vehicle and the damage to the front of it.

Bugger! I saw this happen to someone just the other day. The guy was lucky his leg didn't get crushed as he stepped out. He was pretty shaken by the ordeal.

you're basically spot on, the car is owned by the wife of BMW sydney owner. Door was crumpled when opened with passing traffic
