Issue with preset buttons

I've had my E90 for almost two weeks and I have noticed something that is a bit strange. Sometimes the bar that shows the presets when you touch one of the buttons will come on without my hand anywhere near the buttons. On a few occasions the Hold to Store message would also pop up. The issue seems to happen more often within the first few minute of driving. Does anybody have any idea what might be the issue?

The buttons are activated by (body) heat. Do you have your heater set like a sauna? If cabin temperature is nice and cool, it's a problem with the unit. Any mod or issue that coincided with it starting to act up? Let us know.

I haven't done any mods. I keep the temp set between 70 and 75.

Sounds like a problem then. The bad news is that unit is connected to the nav, bluetooth, stereo, etc. And could be the unit itself or one of many electronic modules. Hope dealer can pinpoint the culprit. Those moments are when I hate having all that electronic crap on my car. Oh well. Please keep us posted.
