Update For Bmw Border Ranges Run

THIS IS A EMAIL UPDATE FROM DENIS FOR SUNDAY.

Hi All,

Just a last reminder about the run on Sunday. Its shaping up to be a great day, so far we have 18 confirmed cars, with more to come.

So just to recap, Meet at Calamvale Hotel 8:00am for 8:30 departure.

The meet point for those coming from the Gold Coast is the 2nd Caltex service station about 1 klm down the Mt Lindsay Hwy next to the John Deer dealership. at 9:00am.

If you have a CB radio, please bring it with you, so as many as possible can keep in touch.

Don't worry if we get some rain we will still be going.

Please let me know your numbers so I can confirm an approximate number for our lunch booking and to make sure I print enough route sheets.

see you on the day

Denis Weisz #937

E30 Co-ordinator

EMAIL ADDRESS IS Denis Weisz [denisweisz@powerup.com.au]

I'm going fishing on Sunday down the coast, but if it's rainy or rough I'll be joining you guys. The lure of a 355 at noise is better than a fishing lure when the waters are angry.

So I'm a maybe at the moment. Sorry I can't be any more committal than that.

What channel do you guys usually run on your two ways?

Speaking of the sound of the 355... My wife surprised me on our wedding day this year with an F1 355 ride! The sound of that going through the city was unbelievable...

Back on topic, my meeting is near Browns Plains, so it looks like the drive is going past it on Mt Lindsay hwy? Maybe I will be able to catch up afterall!

yup! Except I was made to work this morning, which I was planning to polish/wax the car. Looks like I'll just do a foam wash tomorrow and karchered it before I come down. The good thing about water tank is it dries streak free.

Sounds like they'll be a few of us there!
I won't bother washing. I'll only have to do it again when I get home...

Was a great drive today! Thanks to the BMW Club of QLD for organising it. Great to catch up with Warren and Steve, and meet Tim and Handy, and another Warren who is picking up his 135i this month!

Wish I brought my camera...

Great drive today! Thanks for the BMW Club for organising it, and I am sure we'll be members. Good to see everyone too. Sorry I had to go early, and causing the confusion when I pull over!

I hear Warren is organising a December Drive????

I'm still chuckling over how Sue and I started out bringing up the rear guard, overtook a bunch when they decided travelling with the roof down in the pelting rain wasn't a good idea and then by not getting lost ended up at the Uki pub at the front of the pack!

Was a good run and nice to meet some of you, Club is well worth joining as you can see it's got some great people in it.

I didn't make it as the weather was fine as I headed towards the boat, then went to crud when I got onboard. On the upside, despite being cold and wet, I got a couple nice perch near Sovereign Island.

Are there any photos from the day?

Great to meet all the new guys!
I think we had four black 135s, a rather stunning blue example and I though I saw a silver or grey coupe at one stage? After lunch I lost the pack heading into Murwillumbah - after my passenger decided he really needed to get out for a leak. I spent the next ~100km trying to catch the pack (38-39 cars!!!) through the mountains, before I found out I'd somehow passed them and was actually just racing to keep in front... Great day nonetheless
There will probably be some pics posted on the BMW Club Qld's site soon.

Interesting too, my computer was telling me my average fuel consumption was 9.7 at the start of the drive... When I finished, it was 9.6...

I was taking it reasonably easy, but THAT easy?!

I started at 10.4 before the drive and it had gone up to 10.8 by the end of the day...
