Ok dumb question but keyless entry only works for driver side?

Just picked up my m3 today. Very excited but one problem my gf could never get in when I use the keyless entry. Quite embarassing.

Congrats!!! You will have tons of fun!

On subject... Does she hold a key when trying to get in? If she does listen to the car...

If she doesn't give her one. The passenger door will not open if the key is close to the driver side.

It works on both sides but only on the door the fob is next to. A gentlemen would have approached her door first, and opened it for her.

You can change the setting within the iDrive so that when you use the keyless entry it unlocks all doors instead of just the drivers side.

It should be under the settings when you push the iDrive knob straight down.

Haha ok so basically she needs to bring her key as well otherwise I'll have to open it for her or unlock it from the inside?

It's your choice, but default is the door next to the fob only. DLin is correct. See post above yours.

If you have it set up where pushing unlock once on the FOB unlocks only the driver side door, doesn't pushing the unlock on the FOB twice in a row unlock the driver side, and then the passenger side?

I never use the FOB anyway...I have comfort access and it's set up to where when I touch my door handle, both driver and passenger doors unlock simultaneously.

I had a friend drive my DCT M3 with me having the key on the passenger side in my right-hand pocket. Everything was fine until we were stopped for a red light....The car shifted itself out of gear and refused to engage 1st gear. Everyone behind us were flipping us off and blowing their horn. Finally a little "key" symbol showed up in the dash display. I quickly handed the key to my friend, and all was well again.

Comfort Access is a great carjacking protection....they throw you out of the car with the key in your pocket (you run away and call the police). In the meantime, they can't drive the car away as it's sitting neutral, and refuses to engage 1st gear. Cool feature having CA with DCT.

LOL!

I just gave her a key. And, she pointed out the other day, that I don't open the door for her as often as I used to. Doh!

But you can reprogram the car to open all four.
