X6 Compact Spare Option - Help Please
I just ordered my decked out X6 5.0, last week. I misssed one thing as a possible option, and I still have time to add it.
My question is does the X6 come with a standard full size spare (as the standard offering) ? And if you add the compact spare option, does it save you much space and weight over the full size?? I'd be inclined to get the compact as I'd like to have the extra space & weight savings. Anyone with knowledge of this, your input would be greatly appreciated. |

I like the extra space under the cargo floor, I would opt out, I did.

Thanks for the info fellas.
I ended up ordering the compact spare, since I lease it is about two bucks a month to add. My staggered winter tires will be going on my 20" style 214 Y-spoke rims & they most likely wont be run flats and probably my 22" summer aftermarkets won't either. I'm not a big fan of run flats to begin with but BMW seems bent on forcing the issue. This obviously means having a spare would be wise, if I have run flats I'll just remove it. I like that option & if I do have the spare it will be the smallest/lightest option. |

I think BMW pushing RF's is to protect their image of high end customers. That would not go over to well if you had folks scrounging around in the dirt on the side of the road in Armani suits.
Seriously I wasn't big on RF's when they came on my wife's 3 but she loves them (most women will). However since I go to middle of nowhere and the temp can get to 120+ degrees I have come to appreciate them. My X6 came with full size spare before they made it an option. |
