model history
I'm not sure if this should go here or the vs. , but anyways I'm looking for a little history lesson on the M3 and M5.
If you were to compare the M3 with the M5 in all the model years, has the M3 always been the one that seems to be more track oriented machine? The E90 M3 has been the first BMW I’ve owned (one year this month) and I still love opening the door and getting behind the wheel. At first I thought the M3 would be a stepping block into the M5, but I’m not so sure about that anymore after driving the M3 for a year. I’m thinking of actually stepping into an E92 once I break even on the balance owed, since I don’t use the convenience of four doors as I thought I would, and let the mod monster out. |

This would help with more of the general history of both lines. I think others will give their takes on actual m3 vs m5 question you asked.
