VRS trunk and carpet fitment issue?
Hi,
I am curious as to whether the vrs trunk still has carpet fitment issues, meaning that the panel behind the vrs trunk would have to remain bare and exposed, or is there a solution now - or am i just wrongly informed. thanks why are so many ppl dumping vrs trunks for amuse ones, other than style? |

Hrmm, I have never heard of a problem with the carpet fitting. We installed the OEM carpet on Jon's 335 and it fit like the factory setup.
I am trying to find a photo of the underside but can't seem to find a straight on shot. We can take one this week for you though. Here is a sliver of what it looks like: Here is a side of the bare underside where you can see the mounts for the carpet. |

As much as I don't like Vorsteiner, I have to comment that the carpet does fit well with the VRS bootlid. I had that on my old coupe. The only problem that we encountered was the need to drill holes to mount the trunk lock.

I just installed my VRS E90 bootlid I received from IND this weekend & the ONLY drilling I had to do was for the wire holder push in holes & open up some of the already existing holes...I DID NOT need to drill new holes to mount the trunk lock! And the carpet fit in perfectly!

With the VRS trunk as others have mentioned it's just a matter of drilling the holes where the plastic rivets would go. Use a unibit if you can to get a clean hole and also just drill where the indentations are. I found there was an indentation exactly where each rivet would go. The trunk upholstery fit perfectly.
