huh?
i got a right brake lamp malfunction message today...what the hell the car only has 7500 miles on it. this is almost the same message i used to get on my 98 m3 4dr.

I had the same after a year, turned out that the light housing was corroding. Dealer replaced them under warranty. Some other members had this problem as well and I think there's a thread about it but I can't seem to find it right now.
So, take it in and let the dealer have a look, might be the same issue. Hope this helps. Best regards, south

yep... I think this is the error code I had a few times this summer. I've yet to get around to bringing it in for service, but I also haven't gotten the code in awhile.... I believe it was cc-id 179?

I would NEVER go thru the inconvenience (and waste of my time) of taking my car to a dealer just for a blown bulb, but that's just me. And yes, being 30 miles away makes it even less attractive .
