USB and Ipod Nano

I just connected my Ipod via the USB port. The music plays and I can control it from the I Drive but all the song names are 4 character file names. I am using the cable that came with the Ipod. Is there supposed to be a cable supplied with the car or does the standard cable work. What am I doing wrong? I've tried a mark 1 and mark 4 nano.

You should be using a different cable. The normal iPod cable will not enable all of the interface's functionality. The dealer forgot to include the cable when I took delivery of my car. Call them back and tell them that you need the 6FL iPod and USB adapter cable.
