Are the steering wheel buttons oriented the wrong way or is it me?

Hey guys/gals

I picked up my M and when I press up arrow on the steering wheel or "right" arrow on the radio console, the system rewinds the track, or goes to the previous track instead of going forward...wtf?!

My 06330xi did not do that and instead was set logically not counter logic lol

I'm looking thru the manual and cant find any settings that show i can adjust the orientation of these buttons

thanks

Mine goes the 'backwards' way too. I figured it was wrong at first, but then thought it was set up that way because it then matches the list direction in iDrive. Surprised to hear there's someone who's buttons go the 'right' way though.

Mine too. It seems 'backwards' compared to my E46. Wonder if this is just adjusting the wiring?

Funny. From the small sample so far seems like 09s follow the dct convention. Mine is a 09 and the down arrow goes to the next song/station.

My 09 does this also. Down arrow on the steering wheel goes to the next track, and if you hold it down fast forwards. But on the radio console, this is done with the right arrow, contrary to the OP. I have NAV, which kind of makes sense since the next track is lower on the list and the down arrow would select it. Maybe the buttons on the wheel should have been next to each other instead.

Very odd. I have an '08 (built late-June 08) with DCT, and my buttons function exactly as Z4 Dave's. Also, my paddle shifters don't have the little "buttons" for the -/+ symbols. Those symbols are simply etched into the metal.

What about the arrows on the radio console? OP said his right arrow rewinds/goes to previous track. Mine is opposite although my steering wheel arrows are the same as his (up = rewind/previous preset/track). No one else has commented on those arrows. If it's the build date, mine is May 09. I also have NAV. Maybe if you don't have NAV it works the "normal" way? Unlike mine?

My 08' goes the "right" way

I hate the opposite way. All of our Merc cars are backwards and it really throws me off
