Aftermarket Amp recommendation please

Hello,

I'd like to upgrade my subwoofer to SWS-8s, but from researching, I found that it won't be straight swap without adding aftermarket amp or equipment,
Could anyone please recommend aftermarket amp which will work with my system and SWS-8s?
BTW, I have 09 M3 with Premium Sound System.

Thank you!

You need to get either a Navone 40V max input custom passive LOC (you need to ask him to custom build you one) http://www.davidnavone.com/cart.asp?24&cat=7 or an Audiocontrol LC6i active LOC first, before any amp.

The Premium amp woofer outputs are in the mid 30V peak (thus the 40V max LOCs recommended above) so you need a LOC that can take those 30V+ and cleanly lower it to some 4-5V depending on your aftermarket amp low level input sensitivity.

Once you get either LOC you can get any 150W-200W RMS 2-channel, 2-ohms stable amp that you want to drive a pair of SWS-8 (be 2- or 4-ohms).

Thank you very much for inputs Technic!!

So either 2 ohms or 4 ohms SWS-8 will work with any 150W-200W 2 channel, 2-ohms amp,
or I need to get 150W-200W 2 channel, 4-ohms amp if I get 4 ohms SWS-8?

Put it this way, get an amp that puts out the same 150-200W RMS per channel regardless of 2- or 4-ohms.
