Weak Sirius signal all of a sudden...

Up until two days ago I could receive the Sirius signal in my m3 e93 while in my condo buidling parking garage.

However for the last two days it stays on "acquring" until I leave the garage and even loses signal if I'm under under the metro rail on the road.

It was definetly not like that before.

Anything I can try to do to fix it? I assume that if I take it to BMW they will just tell me it can't acquire a signal in a garage but it has been for the last three months.

Can't figure out why all of a sudden it won't pick up the signal

Mine goes out since new even near a freaking tree, so probably nothing wrong. Even goes out momentarily with narrow overpasses at highway speeds. My Hondas have much better reception, but don't know if it's the equipment (both with internal antennas in the trunk) or the satellites (XM vs Sirius). I never renew the subscription anyway, so not worried. Take care.

In addition to the satellites, Sirius and XM use terrestrial antennas in the large cities. The only way you were receiving a signal in a parking garage was via the land based antenna.

Perhaps they are having some temporary troubles with their land based antenna/transmitter in your area? If so, it'll probably go back to "normal" when they get if fixed.
