i actually installed my self just now but its raining so no pics yet.
The exhaust is loud. loud as shit. it also drones from 2500~3500. I'm hoping after a week or so of driving the sound will change and settle a bit.

nova, it drones from 2500-3500??? That's drone at cruising highway speed! How loud/bad is the drone? Is the tone nice?

sorry i should of kept everything in the other thread. anyhow.
not disappointed at all. and it does sound very nice from the outside. The octagon shape is also pretty aggressive. concerning droning yes it is cruising rpm but i 'll post an update after a week or so. My previous exhaust on other cars would sometime settle down as the exhaust packing would get settled. The finish is pretty good mirror finish with much better welds than the 1st one i got. one good thing about the adjustable tips are it makes it easy to add a rear diffuser w/out removing the exhaust. also considerably lighter than stock ( 35lbs) as for hp gain, i feel it revs a bit better but not noticeable hp. i'll be sending out the ecu to aa this week.

It's not a quiet system but it is not the most aggressive on the market either. Riss has spent considerable time testing the final units to eliminate drone issues. With that said, if you are after a more subtle system, it may not be right for you.

Having run their exhaust and downpipes on my 135, I am happy with the quality, performance and sound- especially for the price. We have worked with Riss through the development phase of this exhaust and I can vouch for the continual revisions based both on their own tests and what you guys mention on the forums. They have taken a while to produce this exhaust but I am confident that the final production unit will be well worth it. Their piece is fairly priced and includes some fairly unique features like adjustable tips. I really feel this exhaust is a good value in terms of the quality of materials and manufacturing put into it.
As for the sound, this is very subjective. I like a mid range system so I will naturally like the sound of the Riss setup. I am not a fan of the very radical sounding systems that generate a raspy sound. Riss has developed a sound that asserts aggression but is not too overbearing or obnoxious. It's not a quiet system, that is not what they set out to produce and not what you should expect. It will increase the throatiness of the car, especially under WOT and will increase sound inside the cabin. That is to be expected with a free flowing aftermarket setup. With that said, I personally find it to be a good mix between sound output and comfort, I daily drive my 135 and consider it plenty comfortable. |

Very insightful review. I appreciate it. I had a BB Triflow exhaust on my E39 M5 and loved it. Hoping this one mimics it. I'm still in...
