Alpine White....will this cause yellowing???

Washed the car last night only to discover tons of tiny tar spots all over both sides and heavy tar spots aft of the wheel wells. UGGGH.

1. Completely washed car with auto shampoo.
2. Used microfiber towel and gasoline, wiped down all sides and removed tar.
3. Hosed off car.
4. Rewashed car with auto shampoo.
5. Dryed with microfiber blue towels
6. Applied complete layer of Meguiars #26 with orbiter to the entire car.

For all you detailing gurus...am I in the clear? Thanks.

Never wipe down your cars paint with gasoline. Use an appropriate goo remover.
Gasoline is like a paint thinner!

At least you got it off the car and didn't let it sit, so I'd say you're in the clear.

Next time, a better choice would be something like Goo Gone but the best option is a clay bar. Then reapply your favorite LSP and you're good.

I would stop bothering with the #26. It looks ok but a carnuba on white is kind of pointless unless the finish is like glass and even then #21 will give you better depth and gloss.

Clay bar...it's the only way. I try and keep up on removing tar spots, but there's always a few.

I have heard of using kerosine to remove hazing, but never gasoline.
