My car started doing the same thing last month with no check engine light, I brought it in the shop and I had faults stored in the DME for low fuel pressure. This does affect the fuel delivery and ultimately the performance of the engine. Bring your car in, the dealers are doing tons of these now and probably have the part in stock. If you wait it will only get worse and your pump may fail. There is a new BMW technical bulletin that was released this month which caters directly to customers complaining of the long crank without the presence of a check engine light. In the past dealers were shying away from complaints without a CEL due to BMW constraints. Bring it in, they will not give you a problem...make sure you remove any aftermarket engine tunes you may have first!

I would not say MAJOR problems...it is basically an issue with the N54 motor from the start, they made a crap fuel pump...besides this my car runs great!

still not had this in the UK. Should I be worried ? Will UK dealerships have the same information logged for this fault ?
