6 Month wait is over! 2009 E93 SSII over Bamboo
Well six months after placing the order, I picked it up today! It was actually at the local German dealer for over a week, but we had to wait until the paperwork cleared customs via military sales.
I would have tried to get it sooner, but figured that I would wait until "spring" in Bavaria since it will be primarily only a fair weather car and it is a convertible after all. I ended up putting about 40 miles on it today before locking in the garage with heavy snow falling (Spring my a**!). So far, I absolutely love it! No regrets on the color combination, although "not recommended" by BMW. I did not go with extended leatherand I think that it came out nicely. Also went with carbon leather trim as I am just not a huge fan of the titanium. I had to do a half day at work after picking it up, so only got a couple of crappy pictures, but will post more, if we ever get to see the sun. Looks like I will take the Honda to work for a few days with this weather. At least that wil give me time to read through the manuals again. No real mods yet, but did drop in a set of Weathertech floor mats in at delivery and pulled the carpeted ones (No "M" logo mats in locally available in Gemany anyway). Military sales is pretty tight evidently with any "freebies", but did manage to get an M keychain and the Ipod cable thrown in with the basic 3 series mats. Can't wait to hit 1200 miles!

Thanks for all the kind replies! IIRC Fox Red and Bamboo are "not recommended" in combination with SSII in the company literature. I think that either looks fine! Going with the black interior was too monochromatic for me, as was silver interior, given the exterior. I am not a huge fan of red, so bamboo it is. I think that they play well with each other and, judging from the diffculty in finding existing colors of the this combo prior to ordering, pretty uncommon to boot. The German dealer did a SSII/FR E90, which looked OK to me, so I was able to see that one but again, just not a fan of red although it was in the demo that I first drove (with AW).

very nice! I think the bamboo with ss2 is very unique and it actually looks good! Same thing happened with the interlagos and fox red. Not recommended by BMW but it looks good and many people now have that combo

Thanks for all the replies thus far! Color is such a subjective thing, so I would not expect everyone to express rampant enthusiasm. Then again, this why I dislike, "what colors show I get" threads. No one else really has to like the color, if the individual owner is happy with it (certain overly red custom 335 interior examples excepted )
I will try to post up some sunny days shots with the top down, if that weather every arrives locally. I should clear 100 miles on the odometer today with the run to work and may do a little road trip this weekend if the weather is agreeable.

Nice, I've got the SSII on an E92 with the Fox Red. I can't wait to see your bamboo in the sun with the top down. That'll be a great color, I suspect.
Black's and grey are fine, but I love the interiors like FR and Bamboo to really show off the leather. The SSII is really neat in the way it changes as the light changes. It'll look blueish to greenish and then straight silver, depending on the light. When you park it next to a plain silver car, the difference really is dramatic. Dave

It was your set of pictures that helped to seal the deal! I was still at the stage of the order that permitted changes when you got yours. No regrets at all this point!
