Wahooo! Picked her up last friday!

Hey guys,

Well, finally got myself one. Picked her up last friday in Vegas-also passed by the casino on the way home- won enough to pay the tax on the car

I forgot how fantastic BMW's are, especially an M3. Wow

Here are a couple pics with my fone. Taped her up to avoid chips and it saved my bumper. Got a couple thumbs up from M5's and M6's on my way home too!

Already have 700mi on her, cant stop driving it.

It is an UNsold 08. Basically the car is fully loaded with 18's. 72,920 MSRP negotiated a bit down of course!

Nice! Congrats!

Small world man. I was helping my buddy who lives in AZ look for 08 coupes in black, gray, or blue. I found that EXACT one for him from Autotrader and sent him the link. I hadn't heard from him yet, but went to look again on autotrader and it wasn't there. Now I know why! lol

If you don't mind me asking, what did you get it down too?

Lucky you. Both in gambling and picking up the M.

thanks for the comments guys. i was sure lucky this weekend

dizman: pm me if you want the info about the car

the only thing that would have made it better is that is this car was IB. but SG is nice as well, i loved it when i saw it. never saw a SG in person until that morning.

yeah, for sure. they were about to pass me, looked at the taped up front end and slowed down to give me a thumbs up, he then proceeded to book it as i heard the V10's just rev; then the car dissappeared. was rather funny.

No offense guys but the tape seems pretty silly.

How about some opinions on using a bra? Good ones to buy, bad ones, etc.

Also wondering if people have had major problems with scraping or damage from speed bumps. Sure isn't much clearance on the front end...

clear bra is going on this week.

tape was necessary driving 250+mi from the dealer to my house. the 15frwy is filled with trucks and not to mention in the desert where rocks and sand get kicked up by cars as well. silly looking i guess, but it serves a purpose
i had alot of pits embedded in the tape by the time i reached home.

What brand of bra did you choose, OG?

BTW Graphite was my original choice (would have been stunning with fox red and brushed aluminum trim) but they quit making it for '09. It looks great with the 18s.

Had to 'settle' for Jerez Black w/ bamboo beige and sycamore anthracite trim which is very sharp, IMHO.

theres a company down here called areotect. they come highly recommended and have done many custom jobs-which helps since i may be getting a lip as well.

im really happy with the color and how it came out, but i will always love the IB.

Fox red would have been a really nice option if this car came with it also!

I went with aerotect as well. They use venture shield and it works wonderfully

Very nice, enjoy in good health!

On the issue of chipping, I have my M3 for 9M / 14,000km and it is amazing how many rock chips are accumulating on the front bumper, the hood and even on the windscreen!! I wash my car by hand almost every weekend and I am discovering more and more new ones (small in size but many). I dont fancy clear bras but I now seriously consider fitting one (probably I will do this after I repaint the hood & front bumper). Even more frustrating on the windscreen... Anyway, I guess solutions exist for the bodywork but for the windscreen it is hopeless!

I think that bras look worse than chips.

I plan to keep my M3 for ten-years or more, so a clear bra is not a good option on the light Silverstone II color.

Same here. An option I am considering is to paint the bumper / hood every couple of years, but then after 5-6 years the new paint may look different as cmpared to the old one.

Me too.

I've already scraped the chin on the right side, turning into a driveway ramp too fast. Otherwise I've only got about 3 chips, but I may get the spoiler fixed and ask them to touch up the chips while they've got the paint mixed.
