Some M3 drivers are just complete turds!
So I'm driving east bound on Hwy 401 yesterday (for anyone else not from T.O. reading this, that is our busiest hwy) and a guy in a white e46 vert pulls up next to me. I give him the thumbs up and he doesn't even look over, he just looks straight ahead and starts pulling some crazy lanes changes. I see that he wants to have a little fun. That's cool! I'm not into street racing on highways but I'm all about having SOME fun with a fellow M3 driver. Anyways, this guy takes off like a jack rabbit, hitting speeds upwards of 160-170km (100-110mph), changing lanes while cutting people off and even passes someone on the right hand paved shoulder.
Okay, not cool at all! I mean, it was 1 o'clock in the afternoon on a very busy highway. Like I said before, I'm all about having some fun but not to the point of doing stupid speeds and endangering other innocent drivers. Needless to say, if you're on this forum and reading this post, I want you to know that you're just a complete turd! Your lack of class radiates from your stupid display of driving. Your image doesn't start with the car you drive, it starts with your attitude and you my friend stink! I'm done!

Totally Agree!
If you drive an M3 you represent us all that drive M3! Im sure most of us that own M3's are some what mature. lol. We are not the snotty teen with his "all show and no go" Honda Civic with a girl to impress. Drive with some class...we know what our cars can do!!!...you dont have to prove it while putting others in danger or making us all look like a bunch of spoiled kids with daddy's car! -If the shoe fits! I haven't street raced someone for years, I reckon maturity and family responsibilities change one's perspective on certain things. Good to hear you also regard things the same way.

It's cool, I was driving on the freeway one time and saw an e46 m3, he looked right at me and gave me a thumbs down and sped away. To this day I have no idea why someone would do that for no reason.

it's simple, he gave you the thumbs down because he was in an E46 and to him the E9x is horrible. The same thing happened when the E46 came out, all the E36 owners thought the E46 was no good. That person you saw will always give you the thumbs down until he gets an E9x.

I was in LA on the 101 going north by Las Virgenes area (not really the heart of LA) anyway. traffic was a little slow and I see and E46 M3 coming up a little too fast for the traffic. He is changing lanes so quickly I was kinda impressed. apperantly the guy was racing a street bike and the biker backed off because the guy was going too crazy. as cool as it looked it was pretty stupid on his part. I'm in slow traffinc and a mid aged man looks over at me and gives me a look like *I know you wanna stab it too you damn kid* I didn't punch it or anything but I see what you guys mean idiots can make us look bad real quick!

That's funny. I'm mid aged and I want to stab it too. I thought the difference between a kid and an adult was knowing when to stab it, not wanting to.

This behaviour is not surprising. E46 guy probably felt he had to show you his ride is still pretty quick since he was feeling insecure.
Nothing different from the number of 135i's and 335i's that pull up to me on the DVP/404 at my cruising speed of 120ish only to downshift to 3 and blast off ahead, to show me what they've got...I never bother entertaining them! |

My first car was a 98 plymouth neon which I loved to drive to extent of its little engine. I can only imagine all the other neon drivers shaking their fists at me for giving them a bad name.
It's a car, it's not the military, one idiot isn't going to throw a bad reputation on the entire group. Whenever I see anyone in a small car (civic, neon, yaris, etc) my first thoughts are, "way to go little car, way not to be an asshole in an SUV." |

whoa sounds like that other M3 prolly was late for some important business meeting or really just racing you. Regardless NO ONE should drive THAT reckless.
Honestly though, every M3 I see on the road drives reckless, hell even I do at times (ok not to the point of cutting cars off here and there, speeding over 100mph) status, but I still drive a little hard here and there. Like say in a 50mph zone id be doing 80mph... And sometimes I will even tail gate a slow car or a car that cut me off, knowing i was coming up fast. I mean hell we drive this car because of its maneuverability, but not to the point of what the white E46 vert was doing. I would say going 80 to 100mph on the freeway and passing up a slow car by dropping a gear and letting them hear your engine purr etc... are all fine.

+1 A few months ago in L.A... on Beverly and Normandie to be exact... An asian guy pulls up to me in what might have been a super/turbo charged E46. He looked over at me all serious and as soon as the light turned green, off he went redlining his first three gears. I cruised, caught up to him, and when he turned over to me, again with a serious look...I started clapping and smiling. Then he drove off all pissed. Ok... WTF did I do? Actually ever since I've gotten this car I've been cognizant of the Clarkson "cock" factor of BMW/M3 driver's. So I actively try not to be a turd. I try to be an anti-turd. I have no idea what sort of matter makes up an anti-turd, but I'm pretty sure I'll explode next to a turd.

Yeah, there are alot of turd BMW owners out there. I have an E46 and always look out for the E92 M3. I get excited just to see one on the road. Theyre like an endangered species in my neck of the woods Ventura county. If you see a Carbon Black 05 M3, just wave and Ill wave back...
