Awesome Mark, I was really hoping that a thread like this would come. I don't know who wants the job, but I'd nominate GregW, Southlight, swamp2, and lucid. All are members who are objective and regularly contribute to the forum. Footie could be another choice. I'd also be willing to do it if others saw fit.
I'm assuming you're looking for 2-3 new mods maybe?

I changed my post a bit...I guess sticky got banned for good. I also think Footie would be a good nominee if he was up to it. The GT-R Ring time thread was living proof of his commitment to the forum!

+1 The question is whether they want to put the time commitment in...

If I had one vote it would go to South, but I agree with T-bone that willingness to contribute time is critical. A mod is no good if not around. I also think that Greg said he wasn't sure that he could contribute the time necessary.

As long as we're talking moderation, how did my "Bling" "SoCal" "SoFL" thread get nixed so quickly? I looked in to see how high the flames were getting and it wasn't there. Remember bulldozing LA into the ocean?

I think it should be a battle between footie and swamp2. Whoever writes the longest posts with the most embedded graphs and pie charts explaining why they are scientifically proven to be the best moderator wins.

Nice try Sticky, your thread lasted all but 25 seconds. I see the www.******.net website did not go down well with the Mods!
I think you are going to have kiss & makeup and put Learner plates on for awhile. I will miss your lively threads though!

I nominate lucid. Bright, level headed, doesn't get heated often.
I also second (or third southlight). Knowledgeable, consistent, nearly conflict free. Is owning an E9X M3 a prerequisite? |

I'd imagine that Mark will contact all who are mentioned or nominated on the thread and see if they'd actually be willing to do it...then make a poll.

I would love the opportunity to have a go but I seriously don't know what's involved. I am a little surprised and flattered by the suggestion though as swamp rightly pointed out he has be beaten on technical input as does Bruce and Lucid.
What's the qualities required for a good Mod and do I honestly match up. |

I'm still kinda new here, but spent years over @ bimmerfest.com. From my experience, a good Mod pretty much keeps the peace. A Cyber Cop if you will!! Obviously forum specific knowledge helps, but personality is more important.
