New or Used M3, 08 or 09?
I am interested in getting an M3. turned in my leased 330ci last July and waited a bit before getting a new car, almost got a 135, but really wanted an M3.
So the economy tanked and I was trying to sell an investment property. Finally sold it and will have some extra money to put down. So, been looking at used 08s, new 08s, and new 09s. I have been reading threads here and I know the pros and cons of the 09s versus the 08s. I tend to be focused money, I know, silly considering money and the purchase of an M3, but it is what it is. There are still many new 08s around, coupes at least, that is what I want, there are many used for sale, and many 09s, so I have a good choice. Although the new 08s left are all less desirable combinations, but that too, is what it is. I have informal verbal offers, advertised prices on new 08s that MSRP for $63045, for $49,995. That must kill used values geez! What should I do? take advantage of major discounts on new 08s(slim pickins), get a better equipped 09(best choices) at a better finance rate, or go used? any thoughts are appreciated. |

That a great new 08 price. If all the options you like/want are in that 08 package, then get it IMHO. Remember, 08 to 09 changes are not much. The big change is the new I-Drive. If you will not get an I-Drive, take the 08 instead.

I'd say go for the '08. From what I've seen on the forums and from what I paid for my 09, you can definetely get a better deal on 08.
For me there was no 08 convertible left in the US with the options I wanted so I had to go for a new 09.
