Am I becoming a douch?
Before you just shout out "YES!" actually read it
Here's my backstory: I've always like and respected BMW's (as well as many, many other cars), but it wasn't until 2 years ago when I started doing the Ultimate Test Drive event and got to drive some that I fell in love with BMW's Flash forward to today, just a month and half ago I got my very first BMW (new 08 E92 M3) and am loving it! Since I've got it I already got an ///M polo shirt to wear to work, I have the ///M logo as the background on my iPhone, I'm getting an iPod nano just for use in my car with "BMW ///M3" engraved on it (it's free engraving from online Apple store), I'm thinking of getting an ///M3 wallent, a BMWCCA Regional polo shirt, and BMWCCA jacket (joined both the day I picked up the car), plus I already have a blue leather jacket that matches the Interlagos Blue the car is (though in my defense I had the jacket before the car, because my last car was blue as well)! Ok, so maybe not douch, but do you think my love for my car is getting out of hand a bit or am I justified?

It is a bit "show-ie".
I took a drive today, enjoying the b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l day we're having and on my way home I saw a classic car show, so I parked, bought a soda and walked around. It was obvious who the corvette fans were - they had the corvette jackets, corvette hats, corvette bandannas, corvette chairs and I even saw a corvette tattoo. Not what I saw, but about the same size |

Just don't flaunt it, be humble about it. If you enjoy wearing those shirts because they are comfortable and look good then yeah go for it but if you're wearing them to show everyone you drive an ///M then no you are a complete douche.

My ///M polo is one with the sweat-wicking fabric, which I find those comfortable, but I also got it cause I love my car and take pride in.

i got a m3 as my background EVERYWERE, my cell phone, my computer (4216 imagies of JUST BMW's), in my sculpture class i don't do anything but BMW extra credit projects, for my final project i tried to sculpt an m3 (didn't come out too well), EVERYONE knows i am a bmw phreak and made a bmw plate. so yea thats about it. ohh and i am trying to sculpt a face of "adrian von hooydonk" for my next project i might have to change my mind cuz its too hard. + teachers make fun of me cuz i like bmw's too much. i was looking @ the parking lot checking out the rides and the teacher yelled out "stop looking @ bmws" and i was shocked and couldn't say anything so AM i a douche ?? |

Having stuff that says ///M can be cool. Being able to approach 10/10 in one of the best handling cars around is even better. If you're not already there, leverage the CCA affiliation and seek out some driving events. Having the car control skills to back it up will give you a douche free pass to let you have an M on whatever you want.

I dunno, but your making me feel better about myself that's for sure, he he jk I think my problem comes from where I work I have the nicest car out of about 500 people (not my words, what others have said) It's the only BMW in the lot and it's literally the only car over $40,000 too. So even though I only have one ///M shirt and a few backgrounds here and there, since I'm the only with such a car everyone kind of thinks I'm a douche or excentric about it.

You are well on your way to becoming one if you're not there already. I have the M keychain and the M license plates which I got free from the dealer. That's about as much flash as I need.
Once you get the M luggage, that confirms it. You're a big DOUCHE!
