if that's the case, more reasons for myself to move onto porsche. i just can't stand mercedes.

Why? A big heavy V8 in the nose paired up with a slush box? Add in decreased reliability and I'll pass.

I believe they have tried this before remeber the Mercedes 500e was that not a joint build?

Parts sharing are not uncommon. Remember when the 3 series were using GM transmission.

This is just a step to ensure the longevity of the German car industry by investing in each other. I wouldn't read any farther into it.
