So howw many of us has already scratched the bumper?
I am referring to the bottom of the fron bumper do to high curbs while parking. I tried my damnest to be extra careful but one evening last week I pulled in too far and scratched it. I even thought about it before hand and even thought about placing some king of clear tape or something to prevent it. But too little too late.

I understand your pain and aggravation. I learned this lesson from a previous car. So I am very aware curbs. Fortunately, the M is a short car so it's easier to pull into a parking slot and leave plenty of distance between the bumper and the curb and still be inside the parking slot.

you mean the lower part (practically under) of the front bumper, that has a weird soft texture to it, like felt and Styrofoam mixed?
i have heard it scrape a couple of times, from speed bumps. or do you mean, the physically painted bumper, the low part///then no hits yet. |

This has happened to me like twice. The very first time was 20 minutes after I took delivery. I drove up a steep driveway not expecting anything and then I hear a loud scratch. I was unhappy for the rest of the day...lol.

I scraped mine but at the soft felt bottom portion only. From then on, every time I drive on deep/high driveway, I switch the EDC to the hardest level.

I got mine scratched 2-3 times (in spite of the fact that I am very careful) but its minor scratches as I was going with close to zero speed over the bumps / curbs. But whats the fuss anyway, the scratches arent visible - its all in your mind!

ALL
THE TIME! And living in the LA area I feel it's totally unavoidable. At least you don't see it. I'm still very cautious but even still. I don't what the Ferrari guys do. You hear that scrape and it's like sandpaper in an open wound. I hate it. Oh well ... out of sight out of mind I guess :\ |

It's the small compromise of owning a high performance low profile car -- you can't avoid it. Stiffen-up the suspension if you see it coming and hit it at a slight angle -- I do this on occasion...

This is why I am getting a knock off lip to protect the bottom of the bumper. Even if I did have scratches that were not visible I wouldn't fuss. Out of sight, out of mind!

A few times a week.....scraaaaaatch. And switching the EDC to 'hard' doesn't help either.
BUT I'm SO happy I didn't buy that black Murcielago because then things would be even worse LOL |

I was really careful with mine but i ended up finally scratching it pretty good about two weeks ago. Doesn't bother me - out of sight, out of mind.

First time pulling into my spot at home on the way home from the dealer. Got it out of the way fast. Two or three times since then, too, and I only have ~250 miles on the car

the concrete bump stop where i live has gotten mine twice, BUT, luckily I have venturshield on the bumper, and although the film got scraped, the bumper itself was undamaged. I carefully cut out the damaged section of the film, and stuck on a new piece to fit the cut out. good as new!
