Bumper Bump, Wrinkle Rage!
So I'm in a parking garage and I go well out of my way to park miles away from almost everyone. As I am standing right next to my car and old woman backs right into the right front part of the bumper. It pushed the plastic in about 3-4 inches (right on the corner, just below headlight). I was screaming, she heard nothing. Anyway, the plastic rebounded back out but now I have this crease in it. It is not horrible but it looks well worse than this in the daylight (see just below the flash spot). Truly it is way worse in the daylight. I have a clear bra and I think the paint was spared. Like most of you (read all of you), I am obsessed with my car. What can I do to repair this, short of replacing the whole bumper, lower cowling?

Oh that's ghey. Probably can't be fixed. In 1 month you won't care. Happened to my rear bumper also except paint came off. Then a couple weeks later I got rear ended.

I hardly can see it in the pic. Just visit the old lady and punch her on the face and forget about that little dent ( i know its hard )

I had something similar on my Miata when a lady who had been drinking fell asleep and coasted into me at a stoplight. I think mine was probably a little worse, but I found one of those touch up paint guys who filled in the dent, smoothed it out, and painted the spot. Looks great, but he had to come out and do it a couple times because his first attempt wasn't all that spectacular. I imagine a body shop could do the same.

i say dont repair it... its not worth it... wait until you have something more serious then repair everything at one go... i dont think it will be very noticeable unless you told people to look at that spot.

if you want to repair it and save money.... uninstall the bumper and take out a heat gun.. heat it up on the OTHER side of the bumper.. gently push out the dent. let it cool. reinstall the bumper. done and brand new bumper again.

Wait for a few more bumps/scrapes/nicks ... if you drive the car it's gonna happen. Then get the prepainted euro bumper.

Why is this a question? File a claim on her insurance and get it fixed.
You obsess over your car, she backed into it, you care about the crease, she fixes it - simple. |
