Best age to drive an M3?

What is the best age to drive an M3? Too young to appreciate it? Too old for the stiff suspension? 20's unmarried and no wife to run mod requests by? 40's with money to blow on mods? What do you think?

Honestly, I don't think age is a big factor but i also don't think a 16 year old should own one due to immaturity factors. i turned 22 last month and got the car when I was 21.

I got my first car when I was 17 which i had up until i got the ///M. It was a 328Ci and i modded it nicely. I love cars and respected the car. I had been into cars since my early teen years always researching and learning about them. I fell in love with BMW's and am on my second one now. It's all about loving to drive and doing it safely and keeping the racing on the track.

With that said, some people are less fortunate and have to work really hard to get the car they dreamed of but in the end it doesn't matter about age, only about achieving your dream and knowing how to respect the car and others around you. I do think that getting the car once married does change things a bit because you have less time for track days and i know alot of you guys have the wives complaining about the mods but i will be doing the same one day.

Ok i just wrote alot and drifted off but you get the drift

I'm in the same situation as you, my first car was a 325Ci and have an M3 now.

i personally think you need to be mature enough and a experienced driver. especially when friends are in the car there is a big chance you will do some things you most likely would not do alone. maturity is a big factor

28 since I'm 28 and like driving it now. Next year 29 will be the best age.

Andrew is right, it's all about experience and maturity this is a very capable car that can kill you if you lose control. Back to the age thing, last time we did a pole most I believe a majory owners were in the 20-30's. I am 24 now and just got my car last May, and I don't ever think that I will use all the performance this car has to offer. I have taken performance driving courses and have tracked my previous car and honestly unless on a closed track this car is scary fast when you push it.

Too youung not good, not sure there is a too old (I know a guy in his 60's who dominates autocross). I will say this though...if you own an M, you should really track it. It's a waste not to experience that once and learn.

83 is the best age. For some reason all the 60-year-old tennis GILFs at my country club really like the M3 so I'm scoring chicks 20 years younger. Gotta love it!

that too... it would be nice to have one bought for me but being able to buy it on your own makes it more rewarding and you value it more
