Dct down shift issue

my car is booked in for it first bit of warranty work. Over the last 2 weeks i have noticed that the car responds sporadicly to down shift request. Sometimes it will shift and other times it wont. I can deal with it in the short term and i'm glad its not the upshift which bizarrely has no similar fault.

It is not like i am trying to shift out of rev range as most of my downshifts are so sensible.

Has anybody else noticed or experienced a similar issue. btw i am on progman 31.2 and dealer said there is still no newer version.

Also i have only tried it in mode S2 and s5.

Hi mate, you should post this up on the UK e90post.com forum - there are quite a few E92 M3 owners on there now - some may have experienced something similar?

I have 6MT as you know...

I experienced the same, but after the software update last October it was gone.

I had the same problem with I drove a DCT car at BMW Driver Training.

On the track the issue was that under HARD braking the downshifts would not occur. By any chance are you braking hard and downshifting at the same time? The solution on the track was to brake hard and down shift later as I was easing off the brakes (before turning in.)

My car has ignored downshifts and even skipped gears too.

I have traced it to the paddles. This never happens using the "stick". The contacts in the paddles appear to be the issue and I will be taking her in soon to get them replaced/inspected. If you car does it using paddles AND stick, it is probably a software issue. If it is only paddles, have them checked out. The more info you can give the tech, the better he can figure it out.
