Any of you think the car would be faster 0-60 and 1/4 mile if it had a shorter 3rd and 4th?

No, it would be faster 1/8. And it doesn't need to shift into 3rd for 60

I was thinking 3rd topping out at 95 compared to 108 and 4th at 125. I just wonder why the gears are so long in comparison to the e46 m3, seems they could've made the car quicker if 3rd and 4th were a tad shorter.

The car will accelerate to 113 mph quicker in 3rd than having to shift into 4th at 108 to do it. Keep in mind torque at the axle will fall when shifting into 4th so the original gearing will be ahead until it has to shift into 4th. It is a give and take relationship.

The gears are longer as the powerband is longer, but the final drive is shorter.

BMW knows what it is doing.
