Just bought the Dynolicious iPhone app. Check out the numbers!!

Bought the app for $12.99. Everyone says it's very accurate/reliable. This is my 1st run with cold tires and the temp was 31 degrees. Got a good run but the tires definitely spun a little and for SURE spun coming out of 1st.

Nope. It uses GPS and measures the velocity and times. All it needs to know is the weight of the car to measure the HP output. It freakin' pegged my car at 415BHP on the 1st try!!! ..simply amazing!!

Then how would it know when you're going 60 MPH and hit a quarter mile?

Magic.

"The V-Box uses both GPS and yaw sensor data to serve up 0-60 times, 1/4-mile trap speeds and lateral Gs, whereas the iPhone only makes use of yaw information to deliver the same numbers... along with estimated horsepower figures."

I use it just for my 0-60 1/4 mile runs. I think the horsepower results are only as accurate as your cars weight including fuel at the time you do your run.

It's only an approximation, but a pretty close one. GPS + accelerometers would be more accurate, but eh.

How did you mount your iPhone to keep it still?

Anybody know if the iPhone cradle aligns the phone straight (i.e. top of the phone is aligned with vertical axis of the car)?

I wedge mine in the passenger seat, works perfect and doesn't budge at all.

arr0gant,

Good result, 4.82s is a good first run. I got 4.94s though admittedly on a damp and colder climes but it shows that DCT even without LC is right on the money with 6MT.

P.S.
I bet with better control over the wheelspin you'll get that down to the 4.5s mark.
