Key FOB and Convertible Top

I remember seeing some posts about being able to raise/lower the top from the key FOB when your car is not equipped with Comfort Access but cannot find them now.

Does anyone know of a way to get this to work?

If you have the alarm, you can use the metal key in the fob in the door lock. But no such luck without CA.

The key work to lower windows/top and raise window/top without the alarm or conv package.....or at least workson my 2008 135i.

Key works on mine too, no ca, but my dealer did tell me the fob would work too, it obviously doesnt.
