so the M6 pulls up...
I was doing about 70 mph on the highway today..still break-in so keeping it within limits...a bmw quickly comes up right behind me, then moves to the passing lane and stays there neck and neck ,.......clearly he wants to race...then after about 5 seconds he revs up and takes off- i guess he was expecting me to race...i kept at 70mph....it turned out to be a M6.....I have driven my friend's M6 and know it is a great handling car although i am not big on the looks......but surprised that he was looking to race...oh well, to each his own...frankly even if i was passed break-in probably not big on racing any other BMWs...
...now there is this guy with a Mesarati Quattroporte in my neighborhood.... that would be fun to blow him away once break-in is over.... |

haha. I absolutely know what you mean man. when i see other bmw's trying to race me, i dont feel the need to race. haha. but then again, i feel like racing should just be left on sanctioned places. haha. dont think it is worth it. But sometimes, its hard to resist the temptation. hahahahahhahaha.

The Quatroporte on the other hand - as long as it is the base and not the S version, you can definitely take it with the E90 and E92. I had an "encounter" with a base-model Quatroporte who clearly wanted a piece of me in my convertible - I couldn't resist. We started from about a 10 mph roll, with him slightly out in front of me. We both hit the gas at about the same time, he perhaps a fraction of a second sooner than me. We were dead even up to about 40 mph when he upshifted, and I started to pull on him at that point (we both aborted at about 50, as we were in a 45 mph zone which is pretty tightly enforced just a few blocks ahead of where we were). I think the difference was in part due to the fact that with my 8,400 rpm limit, I didn't have to upshift as fast as he did. As for a Quatroporte S vs. E90/E92, that would probably be a very close race - given my experience above, the extra horsepower of the S would probably be "balanced" by the 450lb less weight of the E90/92 vs. my convertible - no matter what though - be very safe!! |

M6 is a freakin' beast and will blow the M3 away at any start speed. I've seen an M6 whoop a Gallardo's ass in a drag race. The M6 is definitely one car not to be reckoned with.

Actually at the time, i did not know it was an M6 when it pulled up...and I am in break-in.....but having driven an M6 hard, I know it is very fast....now on turns/ twisties, as driver skills (and balls) are required, I may go for it.... once the break-in is complete and the M3 is past the 1200/ 3000 mls mark .....

If its safe I would race any higher end car just out of curiosity to see by how much they could/if beat me.
Considering most high end car buyers dont do aftermarket but M3 owners do .It would definately be interesting to try out and see just how much an M3 could do with about 480 hp and 350 tq. |
