Car making a weird grinding/humming noise when turning right at slow speeds!! HELP
Can some help me diagnose this problem? Last night I noticed that when I turn right for some reason at very slow speeds the car makes this funny noise. Its kinda like a grinding, humming noise, soart as if my wheels were rubbing but im on the stock 19's so thats out of the question. What can it possibly be? I did just install pulleys, altho I doubt it has anything to do with that, can the shorter belts cause this?
Forgot to mention, I dont always hear it, its like u gotta be at the perfect speed and tunring angle, very weird. |

Can you tell if it from the front or rear? Rear may indicate just the typical noisy M diff'l. And I highly doubt the pulley install is the cause.

Hey man, u know what, it seems like it is from the rear. Has this problem been taked about already? Now that I think about it, its deff from the rear cause I was checking my rear tires lol. Is this something that the dealer has a fix for or its just how the M differential is? Thank you very much. Btw, I mentioned the pulley because the servotronic steering and mayb the shorter belt having to do with it, but honestly cancelled that out since its only on one side.

No problem. It is, from all that I have read, is just the way M diffs are. Search for "diff" and you should find a # of topics. I'd do it for you but I can't figure out how to copy and paste on this damn iPod Touch!!!

Grinding Noise
I'd say it's the dif for sure. The E46 M3 had the same problem until they switched to a dif fluid with extra lubricants. Bring it in and ask them to change the dif oil.
