Winter Wheels and Tires

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
Virtually new

http://www.1010tires.com/tire.asp?ti...inter+Sport+3D

I am about to list these on ebay and other online sites for sale. They are 4 225/40-18 Dunlop Winter Sport 3D almost brand new. Less than 1000 miles on them. They are mounted to 18" M6 replica wheels (see pic above) which are also in perfect condition. Less than 1000 miles and highly cared for along with the car in general.

I got them since I had sold my beater car just before the winter began and needed some wheels to get around in the infrequent snow in Maryland. I now have another beater car and the Z4 can go back to being a pampered sunny day only car

The wheels are going to be listed for $300 and the tires for $750 for a total of $1,050. Four tires alone would cost $1,050 so this is a good price including essentially brand new wheels as well.

Are those runflats?
And does anybody know if the wheels would fit a 2008 Z-4 M Coupe?

Great deal! I have a 135i, I believe these would fit a 135 if the car is a non M. Is it?

Yes they fit a 135i

I looked up a 2008 135i Coupe, non M and YES, these wheels/tires will work.

The issue with that year vs. my year is that my wheels do not have the tire pressure monitoring system.

Your options are to:

1. use the wheels and have the tire pressure light illuminated when driving the winter wheels.

2. Purchase the TPMS system at approx. $200 from tire rack and install it in the wheels to extinguish the light.

3. If you really love the wheels and want to use them year round and avoid the $200 cost of an additional TPMS, you could transfer them from one set of wheels to another.

I think the best option is #1 and accept the light being on since it is only for winter driving. Nothing else would be affected.

Your car uses an electronic signal to compare tire pressure as where my system simply compares tire rotational speeds and computes the difference due to an under-inflated tire's different speed to trigger the same light.

Semantics, but you should know about the potential for the light before purchasing the wheels in all fairness.

Any more questions or information you may have are gladly welcome.

Yeah. I know they would be awesome for summer. Probably wouldn't go past a 255 rear since they are 8" wide. Sounds like you're gonna do something sick like 275 rear on 9" wheels I'm from NYC originally... miss the place, but the roads are so much better here. Good Luck
