Bye Bye RFTs
So I ditched the OEM RE050 RFTs for a set of Conti SC3s. What a difference! The SCs feel much more grippy than the RE050s, and ride comfort is greatly improved over rough road surfaces. Turn in is a bit on the squidgy side - obviously not as sharp as the RFTs - but the grip and predictability of the SC3s more than make up for that. Maybe a strut brace is in my near future...

Replaced mine a few months ago with Goodyear Eagle GTs. Amazing difference for me, especially on wet roads. Unfortunately, I think any tire will feel much better after living with RFTs. I'm still basking in the afterglow.

I can relate. I replaced my RFT's about 3 weeks ago with Nitto Invo's. There is no comparison - the car handles and rides better. And I only spent $660 for tires instead of $1200 +.

What I see
What the future holds. I have way too much tread to toss the RFTs now, and I might as well get used to the feel before I switch. Glad to see the movement over. Check Six! |

I replaced with General UHPs and the handling is much better as well. The noise and ride comfort are about the same though.
