Hearing 5 Audible Beeps

I'm trying to figure out why I am frequently hearing 5 high-pitch beeps or signals coming from the audio system. It happens now and then when listening to either the radio or my iPod. At first I thought it was the recording on the iPod, but realized when I reversed and replayed the recording after hearing the signals that it was not on the mp3, but rather coming from my stereo system.

I started thinking maybe the BMW Assist thing is doing it, but I'm wondering why. I didn't pay for the concierge service and haven't registered a service call or anything like that.

Your insights are appreciated!

No sh-t, hourly alarm?? I must have turned something on while fiddling with that stupid '08 iDrive system.
