That sucks man. Seriously, people just have no respect for other people's property. Similar sentiment to that expressed in Corey's thread about the cowardly jealous bastards that spat on his car. I have a $1000 buck bunky car I drive to the shops for this very reason. My 135 is almost a weekend runner cause i can't bring myself to leave it in car parks known for high traffic with small kids, dickheads, shopping trolleys, stressed parents and old people.

This is making me feel paranoid now. Especially as I rent a space in a public car park as my apartment doesn't have one. Still, my current car hasn't had any dings. Maybe Belgians are more careful...?

I used to have 3 cars - X5, 530i Msport and a 130i Msport. The X5 is the wife's kiddy wagon, the 530i was my weekend car and the 130i was my daily work car. The 530i and the 130i didn't have a scratch on them.

I got cheesed off with playing musical cars in the garage so I traded the 530i and the 130i on the 135i.

I couldn't go back to running 3 cars - pain in the butt!

Maybe Belgians don't have "Tall Poppy Syndrome" - something that is a blight on Australian society.

That's quite possible. A BMW is nothing special here really. Belgium has the second highest market share for BMW after Germany and they are 6th overall in the ranking of manufacturers. Still, my sedona red coupe is going to stand out a little bit as all the others are grey...

On a side note, I stepped out my front door a couple of days ago and watched a new RR Phantom glide past followed by an Audi R8! I love this town!

Some people are a@@@holes, our other car was parked in the local Leagues Club o'night (drink driving is not good) picked car up in the morning and found a double door dent with a scratch between the two dents, ~ 40mm across! Car is in for repairs now, pickup tomorrow. $600 thank you very much!

Gee amk, you're making me uneasy about picking up mine soon. I park the XR6T way away from others at the shops and have survived all bar one very small 'ding' in 5 years (touch a huge lump of wood). Shame about the rock I backed into a couple of weeks ago.

Sorry to hear about your bad news, BTW.

FYI - Have a four car garage but the spaces are taken up by, amongst other things, my wife's 2004 Vespa, numerous kiddy drive-on vehicles ranging from electrics scooters to the obligatory bicycles (x6). I could park another four vehicles in my driveway but being ocean front the sea air would chew the hell out of them within a year.

Don't feel uneasy mate - the way I look at it is the dings don't affect the way the car drives!

Had my 330Ci parked on the road AWAY from a shopping centre carpark, and as we where returning to the car noticed the skank who had her car parked in front of mine was unloading her shopping trolley, and as we got closer realised that she had placed her trolley against my front bumper as she unloaded her groceries..

Needless to say I unleashed with some not so pleasant niceties.

No damage was done, but it just goes to show you how some people just dont give a f### about other people's property..

I really want a Hummer H1 in full US military spec for my trips to the shops!

One of the parents at school had a black H1 - boy did it attract the kids. They all wanted to jump on and in it! Needless to say, you feel quite intimidated when he's behind you completely filling up your rear view mirror!!!

Further to the above, invoice paid $670! And the workmanship is well... went to pick it up, looked where the dent was and I could see where the repair was... unbeliveable. It wil;l be going back in a few days. All this for a dent by someone who was so careless, intentionally or otherwise, that meant I had to spend the money on, lost the car for 6 days and the workmanship wasn't that good anyway. It is a bit like throwing redbacks out your car window as you drive along crying!

What you need is a 16 car underground garage like my mate. When he moved into this new house he could finally move all his cars in there from his holiday home, wife's house (he is separated and his kids live in his house with his wife), his own house, and his office. He had 8 cars when he moved in, now he is up to 12 but I have no doubt he will quickly fill up the remaining 4!

You obviously move in affluent circles WAY! I have my own 20 car garage all planned out in my head. Complete with glass wall and viewing area

Very nice. There can't be too many LP640s in Melbourne. The odd footballer I guess. I remember pulling into the BP on the Esplanade in St Kilda in my brand new red RX8 on a sunny day feeling very flash and some bloody footballer in a yellow Gallardo parked next to me and stole my thunder

Oh btw even he has beater runaround cars. A Golf R32 and a BMW X5. He hates dings like the rest of us!
