Guess the output! Dynoing the qship.

On 23 Aug as part of the WRX dyno day my 135i will be run on the HPF (Horse Power Factory) dyno in Dandenong. I thought it may be fun for everyone to give their best guess as to the result.

The car is absolutely stock and will have a fresh tank of 98 octane ( 93 for you yanks).

Figures in Kw please.

I should add that the figures will be at the wheels, not the flywheel. My bad:biggrin:

yep. stock they only have 225kw at the flywheel... factor in 15% loss and i'm guessing 191kw.

With duplication of running gear and an extra dif a standard WRX looses around 35% on a 4WD dyno. The Bimmer should only loose around 18% making a figure of around 185kW. but could go to 190kW given a cold and moist Melb day.

Best guess is 187.5kW.

I spun all the way to 100kmh! That's why it is on the slow side. As for inside info, I believe my car dynoed 183.3kw stock. So most guesses here are in the money. Except for the 240kw one lol. That is what I am getting now!

How do get 240kw at the wheels from a quoted 225kw at the flywheel :iono:

At best the N54 stock standard in the 135i will have 240kw at the flywheel...

My guess is 186kW.

Anything above 174 ATW kW will make me happy from a "bigger=better' narrow minded perspective, as that's what my 06 WRX made

Without getting into all the fuss about how dyno readings can vary dramatically from one to another and how individual operators can make the readings result vastly different also, I'll have to guess based on the many other peoples results from this forum...

Seeing it's a manual, I'm going to say 184.5kw at the wheels...being optimistic and going for an 18% drivetrain loss
